UTO's cashmere knitwear is made from the highest quality cashmere yarn, produced from "world-class raw wool" and "Japan's finest technology."

We use "Grade 1 raw cashmere wool" harvested in Inner Mongolia, China. This is an extremely rare raw wool, carefully selected for its fiber length, fineness, color, and crimp. This raw wool is then dyed and spun into cashmere yarn using advanced techniques by Toyoboshi Kogyo, a global spinning company.

It is this 100% Japanese-made cashmere yarn, created in this way, that underpins the quality of UTO's cashmere knitwear.

"UTO Cashmere Knits" are born from a factory surrounded by nature, nestled on a hill overlooking the Waga River, a tributary of the Kitakami River in Iwate Prefecture.

Meticulous cashmere artisans in Tohoku, who value "quality born from handcraftsmanship,"
will carefully create "a piece just for you," sparing no effort.

After fulling (washing), UTO entirely air-dries its products.

While it is common to use a dryer for a quick drying process, natural drying is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Nevertheless, UTO firmly believes that meticulously caring for cashmere "as gently and carefully as a baby" throughout the entire process, including the final "drying," is essential for creating the finest cashmere, as we are thoroughly committed to texture and quality.

Deep, Luminous Cashmere Colors Born from Blended Hues

UTO's cashmere knitwear uses "pre-dyed" yarns, which retain their color well for long-lasting enjoyment, and "low-temperature dyeing" to preserve the soft texture.

Pre-dyeing is the most labor-intensive and costly method, but we make no compromises when it comes to color. Furthermore, low-temperature dyeing, which involves slowly dyeing at low temperatures, is an advanced technique that brings out a uniform hue and the inherent smooth texture of cashmere.

For example, "Royal Blue" is created by blending five colors of raw cashmere fibers, and "Medium Gray" is a subtle combination of black, white, light beige, and light purple. By blending five to ten colors of raw cashmere fibers in this way, we achieve beautiful shades with depth and richness.
