UTO's cashmere knitwear is made from the highest quality cashmere yarn, created from "world-class raw fibers" and "Japan's finest technology."

We use "Grade 1 cashmere raw fibers" harvested in Inner Mongolia, China. These are extremely rare raw fibers, carefully selected for their fiber length, fineness, color, and crimp. These raw fibers are then dyed and spun into cashmere yarn using advanced techniques by Toyoboshi Industries, a global spinning company.

It is this 100% Japanese-made cashmere yarn that underpins the quality of UTO's cashmere knitwear.

After fulling (washing), UTO uses "natural drying" for all products.

Normally, dryers are used for quick drying, but natural drying takes time and effort. Nevertheless, UTO believes that meticulously prioritizing texture and quality and "treating cashmere gently and carefully like a baby" even during the final "drying" process is the key to creating the best cashmere products.

UTO's cashmere knits employ "pre-dyed" yarn for long-lasting color enjoyment, and "low-temperature dyeing" to preserve their soft texture.

Pre-dyeing is the most labor-intensive and costly method, but we make no compromises when it comes to color. Furthermore, low-temperature dyeing, which involves slowly dyeing at low temperatures, is an advanced technique that brings out uniform colors and the cashmere's inherent smooth texture.

For example, our "Royal Blue" is created by blending five colors of fibers, while "Medium Grey" is a subtle combination of black, white, light beige, and light purple. By blending 5 to 10 colors of fibers in this way, we achieve beautiful hues with depth and richness.
