UTO's CASHMERE KNIT

Our Commitment to Cashmere

Only the finest materials can produce the finest products.
Materials must be environmentally friendly.

UTO's cashmere knits are made from the highest quality cashmere yarn, created from "world-class raw wool" and "Japan's finest technology."

We use "Grade 1 raw cashmere" sourced from Inner Mongolia, China. This is an extremely rare raw material, carefully selected for its fiber length, fineness, color, and crimp. Toyoboshi Kogyo, a global spinning company, then uses advanced technology to dye and spin this raw material into cashmere yarn.

The 100% cashmere yarn produced in Japan through this process is what supports the quality of UTO's cashmere knits.

Commitment to "Made in Japan"

Not mass production, but careful craftsmanship "one piece at a time by hand"
Delivering the "warmth of the craftsman's hands" woven into each piece

A unique factory that produces only cashmere all year round.
"UTO Cashmere Knit" is born from a factory surrounded by nature, located on a hill overlooking the Waga River, a tributary of the Kitakami River in Iwate Prefecture.

It's not just one piece out of hundreds or thousands that comes to you.

"Linking seams" that affect comfort
"Ironing finish" that enhances the beauty of knitwear

The meticulous cashmere craftsmen of Tohoku, who value "quality born from handwork," spare no effort to carefully create "a piece just for you."

After fulling (washing), UTO uses only "natural drying" for all products.

Typically, a dryer is used to dry products quickly, but natural drying takes time and effort. Nevertheless, UTO is thoroughly committed to texture and quality, and believes that "treating cashmere gently and carefully, like a baby" even through the final "drying" process, is what makes the best cashmere products.

Commitment to "Color"

Deeply Luminous Cashmere Colors Born from Blended Hues

UTO's cashmere knits employ "pre-dyeing" for long-lasting, enjoyable color and "low-temperature dyeing" to preserve their soft texture.

"Pre-dyeing" is the most labor-intensive and costly method, but we make no compromises when it comes to color. Furthermore, "low-temperature dyeing," which involves slow dyeing at low temperatures, is an advanced technique that brings out uniform colors and the inherently smooth texture of cashmere.

For example, "Royal Blue" blends five colors of raw fiber, and "Medium Grey" is a masterful combination of black, white, light beige, and light purple. By blending five to ten colors of raw fiber in this way, we create beautiful shades with depth and richness.

Washable, "Growing" Cashmere

Cashmere that grows with you,
for as long as you spend together

“It doesn't shrink even when washed” — UTO's "growing cashmere knit" is crafted with years of research and expertise, allowing you to wash it easily and safely at home.
The more you wash and wear it, the softer and smoother it becomes.

We invite you to enjoy the unique characteristics of natural materials and the luxurious moments created by their aging process.

Aftercare

Enjoy your knits for a long time
with our reliable "aftercare" service.

What if your knit gets snagged, or moth-eaten, and the yarn breaks?

With the desire that you "use your knits carefully for a long time," we offer "aftercare (repairs)" even after delivery.

You can use your knits with peace of mind, keeping them beautiful for a long time.

Always by your side,
10, 20 years from now and beyond.

From raw materials, to spinning, to dyeing,
the artisans in various fields pour their time and effort into creating
"a single strand of cashmere yarn."

Finally, UTO's cashmere artisans knit each and every piece with care and effort,
creating a "one-of-a-kind" UTO cashmere knit.

Because we want you to cherish and love it for a long time.

Not one in thousands or tens of thousands,
but an "irreplaceable piece,"
"a superb piece that warms both body and soul,"
for you.
