UTO's cashmere knitwear is made from the highest quality cashmere yarn, created from "world-class raw wool" and "Japan's finest technology."

We use "Grade 1 cashmere raw wool" collected in Inner Mongolia, China. This is an extremely rare raw wool, carefully selected for its fiber length, fineness, color, and crimp. This raw wool is then dyed and spun with advanced technology by Toyoboshi Industry, a world-renowned spinning company, to produce the finished cashmere yarn.

It is this 100% Japanese-made cashmere yarn that supports the quality of UTO's cashmere knitwear.

After the fulling process (washing), UTO uses only natural air-drying methods.

While it is common practice to use a machine dryer for quick results, natural air-drying is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. Nevertheless, UTO is committed to prioritizing texture and quality above all else, believing that the key to creating the finest cashmere lies in treating it “gently and with the utmost care, like a baby,” even during the final "drying" stage.

UTO's cashmere knits employ "pre-dyeing," which ensures long-lasting color enjoyment, and "low-temperature dyeing," which preserves their soft texture.

Pre-dyeing is the most time-consuming and costly method, but we make no compromises when it comes to color. Furthermore, low-temperature dyeing, which involves slowly dyeing at low temperatures, is an advanced technique that brings out uniform colors and the cashmere's original smooth texture.

For example, "Royal Blue" is a blend of five different colored fibers, and "Medium Grey" is an exquisite combination of black, white, light beige, and light purple. By blending five to ten different colored fibers in this way, we create beautiful colors with depth and richness.
